san francisco police expected to be here. as soon as we find out more information on this incident we'll pass it along on "mornings on 2." we're live in san francisco, brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> 7:03. well, last night a terrifying and deadly scene at richmond, right in front of b.a.r.t. passengers. gunman shot and killed a b.a.r.t. passenger. ktvu's tara moriarty is at the richmond b.a.r.t. station. you've been out there since 4:30 this morning and investigators are still looking for a motive in this attack. >> reporter: police are gonna be poring over surveillance camera foot am. you can see one located -- footage. you can one located. when gunfire erupted, there were two bullets that sliced through windows on the side of this building. they actually -- one of them popped out on the other side. right here, you can see the very large hole where all of the glass is shattered. it ricocheted off this red column right here. police who were here say it was utterly chaotic with everybody scattering after they heard the shots. officers

are searching for the driver who plowed into a home in san francisco's bayview district, then took off. it happened around 4:00 it morning. tara moriarty is joinging us with reaction from the home in the woman who thought there had been an earthquake. >> reporter: good morning. they thought it was an earthquake. the mother said the daughter rushed into her bedroom and said i think it's the big one and then they looked outside and saw the car smashed into their house where the blue tarp is. witnesses say the driver slammed into the house and then the suspect ran away. there appears to be about $10,000 worth of damage to the house and many items inside the garage were ruined, including a dryer. witnesses could not tell if the person was a man or a woman. they appeared to be latino or pacific islander. the impact of the crash was enough to wake up everyone inside the home. luckily, no one was hurt. >> came outside, nobody was hurt. all of the stones and rock and stuff is on the ground. very surprising. you don't really see too many disasters like this. >> reporter: police are running the

but other than that the drive time is not impacted. 24 minutes out of san francisco. >> we are following developing news out of the east bay this morning. fire crews in berkeley are on scene of a fire at a restaurant. it's located at the "chez panisse" restaurant on the 15-hundred block of shattuck avenue. no word yet on how the questioned on what exactly led up to the shooting. the suspect still on the loose. new information in the lion attack. that left a 24- year old woman dead. at an exotic animal park sanctuary in fresno. officials say, an intern named dianna hanson was cleaning a lion's cage while talking on her cell phone when she was killed. this is video of the lion's cage where she was attacked by this 550- pound african lion named "cous- cous." officials say, the lion was able to use its paw to lift a partially closed door and escape the smaller cage he was in. the coroner says, she was killed by a paw swipe that broke her neck. the lion was killed on site. burglars have ripped off a charitable organization in concord. breaking into the agency's warehouse in martinez

and now the search is on for a gunmen in san francisco. police say, that two people were in the white car on the screen, when a suspect opened fired hitting the 30 year-old male passenger, in downtown san francisco near bryant street. the driver was not hit, and drove off looking for a hospital. the eventually the driver stopped at market and davis shutting down traffic the passenger was taken to the hospital would like spring injuries. the driver is being questioned about what exactly led to the shooting, the suspect is still on the loose. >> new this morning, san francisco police are searching for two suspects who robbed a house then fled across the bay bridge. authority say that two male suspects forced their way into a home in the 2100 block of 23rd street in san francisco's potrero hill neighborhood. robbers then pass what the victim, took an iphone and ipad then fled from the residents. police were able to track the suspect on the bay bridge before they lost sight of the vehicle. anyone with information on robbers is asked to contact the san francisco police to permit. >> time is up

on the picket lines in san francisco; plus, the women who helped win world war ii. but first, the other news of the day. here's hari sreenivasan. >> sreenivasan: police will have to get a warrant from now on before they bring drug-sniffing dogs on a suspect's property. the supreme court handed down that decision today, 5-4. justice antonin scalia wrote the majority opinion for a conservative-liberal combination. he found that using sniffer dogs without a warrant violates the fourth amendment's protection against illegal search and seizure. the republican governor of north dakota signed legislation today banning most abortions if a fetal heartbeat can be detected. that means abortions would be illegal as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. governor jack dalrymple acknowledged it's a direct challenge to "roe v. wade," the u.s. supreme court ruling that legalized abortion. dalyrmple also signed the nation's first law banning abortions based on down syndrome and other genetic defects. the supreme court of indiana has upheld the broadest school voucher program in the nation. a unanimous decision
